I enjoyed this book, especially how it gave greater depth to Hades’ character.

Hades' POV of Thief of Spring adds detail to his life and his thoughts on Persephone, but adds very little to the overall story. It's still everything that ToS is (cute, whimsical, romantic, soft and sweet), and I love Luliver above all so I'm happy for any more of him I can get, but much of it is exactly the same as ToS, with some background pulled from QoN.

As an avid Hades and Persephone lover, I have read many adaptations that have stolen my heart. But I have never read an adaption like Heart of Hades by Katherine Macdonald. She has managed to take a well-known myth and breathe life into it that will have you aching for more. In a unique twist, Olympus and the Greek gods are not immortal deities but deeply intricate fae. Twisting established Greek lore with the complex fae lore, Macdonald introduces us to a completely new story whilst giving us the comfort of a favorite myth. Hades is charmingly vulnerable, acting his way through the traditions and demands of the faery courts. His love for Persephone is heartbreakingly tender and beautiful. Persephone is the perfect balance of sassy and headstrong with compassion and innocence. Macdonald weaves a rich world full of danger and wonder as she builds steadily to our lovers growing closer. I couldn’t put it down from the moment I started and I am eagerly waiting for the next installment in the series. This is a book that promises satisfaction for established Hades and Persephone fans as well as newcomers to the tale.

Hades going on an on about how much he loves Persephone was exactly what I wanted. I loved seeing his side of the story and how much he just adored Persephone.

this was really good. to read in just hades perspective was so refreshing and really enjoyable.

taken such a story which is hades and persephone and katherine being able to stray away from what is normally is done was again really refreshing to see.

i will say i got a bit mad when hades wouldn’t admit what he knew but saw in the end why he didn’t but still lmao!

will definitely be continuing this series i am excited to see where it goes next.

I knew reading from Hades’ perspective would tear my emotions to shreds in the best way—and I loved every moment of it. The original duology remains one of my favorites of this author’s works, and rereading them from his POV was quite the treat. I need the next one!
