After the previous volume, which I was less than wild about, I really think that Mecca puts this series back on track. (Oh, inadvertent train pun with relevance to the second arc in this collection!)

This volume does so many things almost perfectly, and only a couple little things badly. The trope of sympathy-begging white male tears is satisfyingly flipped in one subplot. Kamala is shown growing and being real and struggling with doubt and fear and complicated political issues. The art is on point all the way through. The relationship between Aamir and Kyesha buds beautifully. Kyesha "calls in" Nakia while marching arm in arm with megaphones ready, and has a brief, loving argument about the secularization and commodification of the hijab.
I'm just so thrilled that this book is still going strong and retaining the creators. It's been growing right alongside Squirrel Girl for roughly the same time and both of those titles are still consistently my favorite Marvel comic.

Wilson and her team are also giving the supporting characters a well-developed history and motivations.
There's a shocking reveal that will leave everyone conflicted and reminds me of Michael B. Jordan's Killmonger.
Lastly, I LOVE SURFER-HAIRED BOY. Red Dagger is very charming I wish I could see posts about him in Instagram too!
