If there was ever a body of work to apply the term culture appropriation to. I have mixed feelings. Most of this book is nonsense that doesn't hold up to Academic, Spiritual, or Cultural standards. But it's important, John Lennon read it. Ram Dass came into being as a spin-off of this experiment. Tim Leary opened up the discussion on psychedelics in America, but his handling of the situation has them still banned sixty years later.
He mishandled it, and this body of work makes it easily clear why.
That being said, the book makes the assertion that westerners will usually see machinery in lieu of the Gods under the influence of Psychedelics, and that was true for me. Quite a bit of that holds up in the book actually, but there are better books on the experience alone from better authors like Aldous Huxley.

It isn't an entertaining read. So much as it is an educational read.
I think, if you take drugs, this could be a really valuable resource.
For me.... Not so much... Personally, maybe it was interesting but not quite interesting enough.
If you take drugs it will help you take your experience to another level, but I don't think it's integral.
Really interesting to see the world from a different perspective.
