You read one vampire novel, you’ve read them all? Wrong!
Blood is completely different from anything I’ve read before and that’s saying a lot. It’s unique writing style took me off guard, but I think it worked really well with the story. The chapter’s are short and full of action and take you straight to the core

D’s job is to hunt anything that goes bump in the night. He is not your usual superhero type of guy. Yes, he kills monsters, but he is far from perfect in the process. Collateral damage? That’s part of the job. His only goal is to finish the job and survive to fight another battle tomorrow. He is not heartless, but he is also nobody’s saviour. If you are stuck with him in a vampire infested building, don’t expect him to sacrifice his wellbeing to protect your ass! His character is refreshing and unique. Real.

D is the main ‘hero’ of the story, but Erik also uses several other perspectives throughout the book. What I enjoyed most were the flashbacks that explained the origins of the vampire’s terrorising the office building D got himself trapped in.

If you are expecting long, intricate descriptions, there are not many to be found. If you, however, are looking for a fast paced easy to read action story, this is a perfect pick for you!
