I bought this for my three year old daughter a few months ago, and it has been such a source of joy ever since. We are currently building a dollhouse like the one in the book, and she is having so much fun! Essential purchase if you have a little one with a big imagination!

A story about creativity and thinking outside the box. I like the message and seeing the creative ways the main character creates props for her dollhouse.

Cute and imaginative, and really struck a chord with me about childhood shame. I love the creativity involved in the house, too.

The importance of imagination!
This is one of those books that you have to buy and not get from the library because under the jacket flap it has directions for how to make your own dollhouse. I tried peeking behind the library papers but couldn't see much, will have to check it out at the bookstore!

November 2016 - I loved this as a fan of dollhouses, and Ben was interested after playing with a friend's dollhouse. There's a lovely emphasis on creativity, friendship, and collaborative play.

Love this story for interpreting toys and collection materials. Can definitely put this to use for work and play.

The child's voice rings true in this one, and the tiny little details (yarn spaghetti on a bottlecap plate!) are a lot of fun.

Totally a book DIYers will love, because the protagonist cleverly makes her own dollhouse and accessories from all sorts of everyday objects. But this is not just a how-to manual, it's a story about two friends who are learning how to play with each other.

A complaint: the protagonist crafts one of the dolls to have a Native American-style headband with a feather on it, with no context or explanation. It's an easy thing to avoid--switch the feather for a flower, and there are no problems. So no four stars.
