I (much like every character in this one) found myself a little lost pretty much constantly

A lot funnier than I was expecting, and much more engaging than I thought it would be. I liked the way the book poked fun at a number of fantasy tropes, but I feel like a few might have been more specific for the time it was written in. It was a very easy read that I found quite enjoyable and surprisingly funny.

I've never really given Terry Pratchett a fair shake, and assumed a lot of things about his books, but after reading this I wish I'd read his books much earlier. And I look forward to reading more!

Incredibly fun read that doesn't quite reach the heights of later Discworld novels. The fantasy world described here is surprisingly deep despite the number of jokes, and many aspects of the magic are plays on real-world science. Overall a fun read, but not the Discworld book you should necessarily start with.

  •  “On the Disc, the Gods aren't so much worshipped, as they are blamed.”
  •  “It was all very well going on about pure logic and how the universe was ruled by logic and the harmony of numbers, but the plain fact of the matter was that the Disc was manifestly traversing space on the back of a giant turtle and the gods had a habit of going round to atheists' houses and smashing their windows.”
  •  “'My name is immaterial,' she said.
'That's a pretty name,' said Rincewind.”

Z przyjemnością wrócę do Świata Dysku raz jeszcze, żeby poznać dalsze losy Rincewinda.
