I read this book in English (I'm Spanish, and there were no Spanish editions of Burney's novels) because I had read that Fanny Burney inspired Jane Austen. Reading it was a big effort: the book was written in the 18th century; many of the words were unknown to me, some of them were written in a different way (oeconomy, shew insted of showed...). But the effort was worth it, and afterwards I read Evelina and Cecilia, also in English.
