Another hearts-and-other-partswarming fantastical romance from Chace! Fellow late bloomers, rejoice with me in the delight that is Harrison Hamilton, never-been-kissed gay window guy, good dad to humans and hamsters alike, donair pizza enthusiast, and--turns out--just a dude who is super horny for demons. One demon in particular. A reformed pleasure demon who might not be that reformed, and also loves to dumpster-dive. Good for you, Hamtaro.

I was not prepared for how adorable this was! Harrison is a single father who came out later in life, and has never actually dated a man. Now that his son is in college, he's trying to make time for himself and goes on a date with a hot man he meets online. When he meets him, it turns out the date, Lazlo, is actually a demon, and Harrison is the only human who's ever seen through Lazlo's magic glamour to see his real appearance. Lazlo is weird in both appearance and demeanor, but also endearing. I could not tell you what he looks like, but tentacles and gems are involved. He's a former pleasure demon who is now obsessed with garbage for...reasons...but if you just go with it it's cute. Their relationship development is very sweet. One issue - I'm Canadian and love a Canadian setting, but there is an excess of cliche Canadian references. For example, Harrison seems to eat poutine for every meal, and in a short novella manages to mention multiple times that his favorite band is Nickelback, of all bands. There are a lot of cringey spots for this reason, but on the whole it was still a lovely little palate cleanser.
