This book is exactly what its title promises it to be: an interview with history. Or with the history of the 1970s, which makes sense considering it was first published in 1974. In it, controversial Italian journalist Oriana Fallaci interviews some of the most important political figures from that time, from Henry Kissinger to Golda Meir, from Indira Gandhi to Yasser Arafat, from Nguyen Van Thieu to Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, trying to get to the heart of their ideas and personality, obviously with mixed results.
The edition I read was published in the early 2000s and included short bios of all those interviewed even post-conversation, which was useful as all topics covered are not part of regular high school curriculum and thus I knew very little or nothing about. It was an interesting read, however, and one that I would definitely recommend, though perhaps after a brush-up on your 1960s-1970s world history.
