I did like this book but couldn't give it gibe stars due to my own stupidity. I accidently read this book before I read the first one which caused me to be a bit confused when I read this one.

Carries the story from the first book with the Angel family. Matthew is now in Jail for murder of his girlfriend and unborn child, the other Angel children are now in the care of a hard caretaker that issues new rules for the children. While Tandy is trying to solve Matthew crime she is caught up in the murders of Young Elite Women that are being murdered.

This second novel takes a lot of time rehashing the first book and doesn't really come into it's own until towards the end of the book. All in all I still enjoyed the story and having the characters develope a little more.

DNF’d this one. I liked the first book, but I’m just not interested in this story anymore.

What I really enjoyed about this book was that there were essentially 3 different crimes going on all at once, so there was a heck of a lot of mysteriousness to detective your way through. Tandy's older brother Matthew was on trial for the murder of his girlfriend and unborn child, even though there was no evidence. Young girls who attended high-dollar private schools were being murdered. And then there were deadly poisonous animals crawling their way all through the Dakota, the fancy building that the Angels live in.

However, throughout the majority of this book, Tandy kept pining over a boy and talking about how much she loves him and how his touch gave her a tingly feeling and blah blah blah. This freaking irked me to my core, because girl your helpless brother is about to be charged as guilty of murder while you're over here obsessing over a boy you haven't seen or heard from in months. Like stop it. Be there for your brother and help him. I'm all for a romantic subplot, but that was just too overbearing for me.

The sequel to "Confessions of a Murder Suspect" is a total sequel. We pick up very near where we left off, but thw family isn't nearly as intriguing as the original take. The plot isn't as sharp and focused. The titular murders are completely random.

What we do get is moving the family forward to a new position and some new cast members. Now, hopefully, they've established that Tandy is a detective and they have a new set and the next story will be more interesting.

The saga of the Angel children continues in the follow up to Confessions of a Murder Suspect. This book opens with Matthew still in jail for the murder of his pregnant girlfriend, and the emergence of serial killer who is killing private school girls.

I though this was a fun little read. The mysteries made sense, with the exception of what was going on with Fern Haven, but even that I could somewhat buy into (suspension of disbelief right?).

I will be taking a break from James Patterson for a while. I've over consumed him in the last month and a half and need a break.

Thrilling and absolutely compelling to read; never a dull moment. It keeps you hooked from the first page until you've finished it (a few hours later with no breaks.) I'm in love with this just as much as the first. The wait for that third book in October is going to kill me.
