Good suspense! EAP characters and plot starting point but an original work.

I have always been a pretty big Poe fan, and the Cask of Amontillado is one of my top 5 Poe short stories. This follow-up does the original so much justice. I had always wondered about old Count Montresor’s deeper motivations, which are explored here through the experiences of Fortunato’s granddaughter. The art is excellent and the story-telling is top notch

This graphic novel is an adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe's The Cask of Amontillado. I absolutely loved seeing this story come to life. I'm a total sucker for this type of art style. Strutz's illustrations were dark and beautiful and fit so well with what I had imagined for myself the first time I read this story. This was a fairly quick read and I'm excited to see the continuation of this story in the sequel, The House of Montresor.
