Once again Baldacci has not disappointed!! This book is packed with curves, twists, and is so intense!! You must have the 4th book ready before finishing this one!!

I enjoyed the pairing up of Puller (crossover from another series) and Atlee to solve the multiple crimes. So glad some answers were given in regards to Mercy. Hoping for more in the next book.

this is the first Baldacci book with the Atlee Pine character that I have read. I liked the character and could overlook some of the fantasy bits as it kept me interested. I did have a problem with the character of Carol Blum and how that FBI would pay for an Admin to accompany an individual agent on a personal trip. Atlee was searching for her sister that had been kidnapped 30 years prior. The way that Carol referred to Atlee as Agent Pine all the time did not seem real considering how "close" they were supposed to be. Also, Ms. Blum doing an all day stake-out in a café didn't ring true either. It fell a little flat when Pine and Blum went physically to an old address to see if the family that maybe had Mercy were still living there. Not sure why they didn't use the internet first since they had names and addresses. Then the bit with John Puller saving the day was a little too much too. but overall it was entertaining.
