I didn't like this fourth book in the 13 to Life series as much as I did the other three books. It was still good, anything by Shannon Delany is good to me, but it's just that some of the character's relationships were falling apart, specifically Piotr and Jessie's. After taking the cure, Piotr becomes more aloof towards Jessie. He changes in his charms and seems to have lost his personality, the mojo he'd had that'd made him HIM. He also becomes extra nerdy. There's nothing wrong with that, but it's just that he acts like he doesn't want to be close to Jessie anymore.I have to agree with how Jessie starts to feel in the book. I want the wolf back. Yes, it will shorten his life and yes, then they'll definitely have to face Marlaena's group over territory, but at least he'll be himself again and not this dull person he's become. Anyway, it was still an engaging story with a good plot. I thought the new characters were refreshing. Marlaena kinda reminds me of Max from the Maximum Ride series. She's tough and would fight hard to keep her family/pack intact. I'd like to get to know more of these characters and also hope that Piotr and Jessie mend their relationship before it breaks apart.

I was a bit disappointed with this installment in the series, but I still liked it! There's wasn't much going on between Pietr and Jessie in this one :(

The first two books of this series were highly enjoyable. They represented a new look at werewolves for me, and I rather liked the Russian element. I thought the characters were mostly cool, although I've thought from the beginning that Jessie was kind of weak. But I was getting used to that, and she was getting better. I could see her getting stronger by the book, up through the third book.

Sadly, I won't be sticking around for any more character growth on Jessie's part or anyone else's. I feel like the fourth installment has gotten muddled with the addition of too many new elements/characters and too many alternating POVs (you know how those can drive me crazy). Between Alexi, Jess, and Marlaena, I had a hard time keeping track of what was going on, even though it says who is speaking at the beginning of each section.

I might be alone in this, but I think the series could have ended with book 3. I'd have been a lot happier with it if it had. By now, it feels like Jessie has gone back to being whiny and a martyr and I just can't like her.

I do, however, LOVE Max. He's my favorite character. If this book had focused more on him, I'd still be heading into the following books. He rocks, plain and simple.

Plot-wise, the alternating POVs just made it too confusing, so I kind of gave up on trying to follow what everyone was doing. If the cure had been the main conflict instead of the other group, it would have held my interest, I think.

Sadly, this is just a 'Meh' for me and I won't be continuing the series.

Definitely not my favorite in the series, but still good. I felt like it was just picking up when it ended.

Full review to come.

Really enjoyed reading this book, it was funny that Jess kept mentioning her life or something being a part of a book series, considering this is a book! Very funny! Can't wait for book 5!!!

I hated the ending ... Just ... Ugh! Now what???
Look - the book is good .. Just not as good as I wanted - I don't know - now I'm really confused. So many elements - & Pietr - ugh!
Not happy!! Anyway - we meet new characters & they are another element in this frustrating book. Hopefully the next book has redeeming qualities...

While not my favourite in the series, this was still a good book. I didn't like the new wolves but all the other characters were pretty likable. The thing that bugged me the most was Pietr. Ugh. Talk about annoying. He used to be my favourite but now he's like a completely new character and that just doesn't sit right with me.

I hadn't expected the ending. None at all. Which is what I like about these books. You can never expect what is gonna happen. Just, UGH, do I really have to wait till August to read the next book?

Team Pietr! :)
