I do have a soft spot for ice queens, especially when they're guarding a broken heart, and Laurie Emerson definitely didn't disappoint. I couldn't put this book down, absolutely loved it!

Absolutely loved it. Jack was the young bold mischievous MC that got me laughing in many occasions and Laurie the Ice queen that, instead of get me pissed with the cold behaviour, got me expecting her to be the ice queen we deserved and she delivered. It was a really fun reading and I had the feeling of anticipation (the good kind of anticipation) during the whole story.

I also loved that they didn't fall in the cliché of getting caught and the blackmail stuff (which can be nice too) and it was almost drama free in the romance area (almost), which I honestly loved. And for those, as myself, who loves a steamy action, ohhhh, it's there. Mind you, It wasn't too little nor over the top, just well balanced.

I was sad when it came to an end, even with it being a very pleasing one. For me, it's the kind of story and characters I'd love to follow if the authors would give a sequel, not that I'd expect, but would never complain if so.

This book was mildly entertaining with good dialogue and characters. There were a few steamy scenes but I honestly never felt a connection between Jack and Laurie after their first night. I kept reading because I wanted to see how the Othonos pitch was going to play out but I really couldn’t understand why Jack was so smitten with Laurie because she honestly wasn’t a very nice person.

2.5 they only had chemistry when they first met, everything else was just not it. Also Laurie was such a boomer, I couldn’t deal with it
