The first half was interesting and creepy but the second half took a weird and disturbing turn. I just didn't like where it went. It felt like it could've been more creative but what do I know? I think the back half didn't age well but if I read it when it was released I would probably have a different reaction. Check trigger warnings.

Haven’t read anything this grim in a long time. There’s no good guy, no redemption, it just slowly devolves into the characters becoming more detestable. I felt gross after having finished it. Still a quite compelling story, invoked some emotions.
