The Distance Between Us by Maggie O'Farrell

Twisty-ish melodrama set between Scotland and Hong Kong. It ticked along at a good pace, the writing was a lot better than I expected. The cover gives it a kind of chick-lit vine but I’d say the writing and the way the story unfolded rose it above being pegged in that genre. Very visual and cinematic. A chopped up tale of many different view points- Mel deserved better though. As one dimensional characters go she was paper thin.
