"If I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more"~Emma, Jane Austen

Guess what, this is literally me. This book was so fucking good I'm speechless. Everything was so perfect. Everything. The communication, the chemistry, the trust, the smut, the plot twists—all. I knew this would be my comfort book, and I think I know myself well. If I could rate this more than 5 stars, I would in a heartbeat. 5 stars don't do this book justice because the amount of times I got giddy as shit and then depressed is astronomical. This book was an emotional rollercoaster, and I love it so well.

“I lost my heart to you. And, Bree, in case you're wondering, I don't ever want it back.”
~Archer~
This man. This. Man. Right. Here. All I want is to hug him. He is such a well-written and adorable character, I can't help but love Mia Sheridan for writing him so beautifully. Everything about him was perfect, down to the last-minute detail. His character development, his thought process, and his ACTIONS. Him looking out for Bree and the puppies, him saving her in the bushes—how can I not love him? His past was so downright heartwrenching because does it still hurt to think about it? Too much. I'm a whore for golden retrievers and grumpy but not grumpy, and this guy right here took the top spot.

“It’s like, the second I saw him, my life started.”
~Bree~
My favorite girlie. It's literally so depressing that people like her don't exist or are rare because literally everyone deserves a friend like her. Her communicating with Archer when no one did, her treating him like a normal person despite what the others did, her trust in Archer and their relationship—she deserves so much more recognition. I love her so much. Her past was depressing, and if it was possible, I would be the first one to deliver those tight hugs she deserves.

“Try to believe that maybe more light shines out of those who have the most cracks.”
~Archer + Bree~
The most accurate adjectives to describe their relationship are pure and beautiful. Both of them are major green flags, and their relationship was everything but toxic. The trust they had in each other, their communication, their small cute moments, the meet cuteI can't I'll cry. They were like two broken pieces, making the most beautiful painting when they came together. The biggest example of 'Actions speak louder than words' is this book, and they didn't even require words. Acts of service and words of affirmation are my desired love languages and damn if it didn't deliver just that. Also, will I ever shut up about this book? Nope, not in this lifetime.

i’m giving this one a very light three stars.

i really enjoyed the first half and the development of the relationship, a lot of the characters were enjoyable to read about and the writing was nice and simple to follow.

the only thing that makes my rating a bit shaky is the pacing at the end of the book, some events that took place in the second half as well as how it seemed to drag a little for me at the ending.

other than that it was a great read to start my reading year off.

i loved this book. archer and bree's relationship was so cute! the only thing i have to complain about is that (spoiler):
why do they keep having sex after every emotional scene because every time im crying suddenly there are descriptions of sex and how he pushed into her. also is it just me or i hate the description of "his eyes flared" it sounds so bad to me sorry.
but other than that this book was so cute!
