3.5 stars!!

A trans woman's body is found inside an idol of Ma Durga. The plot follows and intricate investigation and ultimately ends in a satisfactory climax! I flew threw this one in 3 hours; it gets to the point very quickly. Easy to read with a fun flow to it, it also raises awareness regarding some extremely important social evils.

LIKES:
1. The GORGEOUS COVER + the title
2. The engaging plot with no misleading tracks. Very crisp and concise. The book reads like a investigative drama movie/tv series.
3. The climax was unexpected but made so much sense. Not too complicated, but doesn't leave you confused either.
4. The setting was quite endearing to me. The characters that were embedded into the setting made so much sense and just felt right.
5. A genuine attempt to make the reader aware about the struggles of a trans person, domestic violence, prostitution, etc.

DISLIKES:
1. Despite a crisp writing, I felt that the book was too fast paced for its own good. It felt like there was a hurry to get to the end. There are some minor questions left unanswered at the end.
2. Because of a plot centric mystery, I could not get attached to any of the characters, which I felt could have helped amazingly w buildup.

I'd recommend this crime thriller to all readers looking for a palette cleanser mystery book!
