I quite enjoyed this mild horror graphic novel about a bunch of teenagers who get recruited on scholarship to a school that has problems a lot more sinister than they realised...

This story is definitely action packed. It doesn't shy away from some gruesome supernatural horror elements and death.

Despite the setting, there was a lot less "magic school" than you'd expect for a story set in a magic school. In fact, everything in this library edition binding takes place before any schooling has actually begun.

The art was nice, with atmospheric use of colour and nice storytelling angles.

The plot was honestly a bit chaotic and confusing, I couldn't hope to summarise it even directly after having read it. However, it was a fun ride, a nice in-between read and a good amount of grusomeness without being too much for a wuss like me.

I mostly enjoyed the story, though the pacing is a bit uneven; it's spooky and creepy, and there are some fun twists. The art is the real draw here, brightly dark and creepy with a retro vibe. There are quite a few loose threads left hanging at the end, but we're all used to cliffhangers by now, right? At any rate, this wasn't perfect but it was fun, and I'd recommend if you don't mind some gore in your supernatural hijinx, plus it's got a two-headed monkey mummy.
