Everything from the cover, chapter art, characters and plot was great!
Starts out with dystopian vibes, but transforms into parallel magical universe with a crossover. Court intrigue, backstabbing, mystery and a bead as woman swordsman.
While the book is technically a stand alone, I very much want to hear more. It's definitely left open to to turn into a series, and I think there could be significantly larger roles for some of the characters we get to meet at the end of the book.
So, as a stand alone I rate this 4, but if it were to have turned into a duology or more I'd probably put it at 4.5.
