July 2016 - I love the use of size and illustration style in this book. There's a nicely told but not hugely original text about a boy waking up grumpy and running away from home, and the illustrations really take it above and beyond. Angus changes size relative to how angry he is, and the way he's illustrated changes, too. I love that you can spot his mom on each step of his trip, but she stays back.

Catalogued this at work today. Could open discussions on managing anger in healthy ways.

Laura Vaccaro Seeger's BULLY does what this book tries to do but better.

This book focuses on a little boy who awaits in a series of anger. This children’s book is relatable because it shows how overgrown our emotions can be when we don’t know how to regulate them as some children don’t. Emotions can start over flat us and make our whole day seems so everything is going wrong. The beautiful illustrations in this book show how big these emotions can feel and how they influence those around us. This book would be a good one to show student how we can work on our emotions and we can cool down and eventually learn how to regulate. <emotions> <self-control> <parents> <big >
