This was my first book by Matthew Lyons but certainly won’t be my last.

After fleeing a bank robbery gone wrong, Anne Heller finds herself in a meat grinder of a horror novel. The characters are sympathetic if not exactly lovable, and they are definitely put through their paces. This novel is fast paced and does not let up on the action. There is plenty of graphic violence, cults, body horror, cosmic horror, and tons of flies. But the most important thing: the cat makes it through unscathed.
