Merilee has taken up residence in the suburb of Sweet Apple, Georgia with her two children. She hopes to pick up the pieces of her life after her husband left her for the children's teacher. She soon finds herself in the midst of suburb gossip in the form of a local anonymous blogger. As Merilee embroils herself in the circle of the rich school moms her landlady Sugar keeps her up on who is who in the small town. Sugar though, it seems has her own secrets and a past that she's kept hidden. Merilee soon discovers that everyone is not what they appear to be and appearances can hide a lot of dirt.
What I thought was going to be a cute Southern Chic Lit story turned into a page turner with a mystery and a twist I did not expect!

The mystery wasn’t too mysterious, but the ride was as delightful as the blog posts from “your neighbor”

Very interesting book. It kept my interest the whole way through. I loved Sugar and her flashbacks of her younger years. You could have a whole separate book on her life. Merilee was an interesting character. I loved learning about her secret past. Highly recommend!! I would love to hear more about Merilee and Wade! I wish the author would include a picture of Sugar's property. I would love to see just how her property laid out!

A fluff book, the main character was a little too naive and trusting with the antagonist. A good easy summer fluff read.

Karen White is one of my favorite authors. In the end, this one didn’t disappoint, although it didn’t get going for me until the last 1/3 if the book.

Heather was such an unlikeable character and Merilee seemed way too smart to believe this woman was a friend. It almost made me put the book down a few times. This ‘Small town Georgia’ is far too relatable to me.

Great job, Karen. In the end, as with most all of your books, I felt like the characters were my friends.

Friendship, love and loyalty collide in this novel of the South. Merilee is trying to rebuild her life for her children after a devastating divorce when the Queen Bee of the children's new school, Heather, befriends her. Merilee also has her new landlord, the irrepressible Sugar, and her handy man, Wade, looking out for her. But with so many secrets who is trustworthy and who is out to destroy Merilee? A novel that will grab you from the first page as you recognize people in your life, especially if you live in a small Southern town.

THanks to NetGalley & the publisher for providing an ARC for my review.

I really enjoyed this book. I so enjoy reading Southern authors' works. Karen White's writing reminds me of Anne River Siddons, perhaps because this book is about Georgia and has mythical elements and great writing. This book is definitely a page turner. I look forward to reading more of White's books.
