I think I just wanted more from this book; I'm not sure if it was intentional but it felt unfinished and also like...surface level (or ironic?) in a way I don't love.

I loved how Shraya perfectly depicted what it means to fall in and out of friendship. Set against the music industry, “The Subtweet” is a wholly modern yet enduring story of friendship, artistry, and the fine line between reverence and thievery.

Vivek Shraya composes a beautiful and fraught narrative about friendship and the experience of being a brown artist in a white-dominated music industry. Shraya's use of social media to weave between the characters' perspectives and create tension drives the story. It's lyrical.
