I’ve never seen A Few Good Men. Other than the famous quote from the movie, I had no idea what the plot was before reading the screenplay.
This screenplay is so good. I knew going in that Aaron Sorkin is a really good screenwriter and this didn’t disappoint.
To achieve that much tension, and wit in writing alone without the help of visuals is a talent. I was rapt from
beginning to end.
It’s sad but real that that mentality of “code red” exists not only in the military but also in regular life. Going against your morals to perpetuate bad patterns to maintain a status quo.

An interesting and well written, if not at times predictable and melodramatic, courtroom drama about the US military and (real talk) toxic masculinity. Would LOVE to see a performance of this.

I love the movie and reading the play (which came first) and comparing the two was really interesting. The screenplay is definitely a lot stronger, but the writing here is so strong and quick and captivating. I read it over 2 days, so it's a quick and immersive read.
