This was really great! The voice acting and sound effects was incredible! And that 360 surround sound was amazing!
This story was creepy and chilling at times but I held up so much hope!

This was another Audible original that I think I got free, and yet I was still massively disappointed with it despite that fact.
I really wanted to like this story, interracial lesbian couple and a ghost story combined, sounded right up my street. And while I think the story itself would probably be quite a good one on its own, the production of this podcast/audio series made it feel like a cheap radio play. Everything distracted from the story, from the music and background noises to the performances from the actors/narrators. They tell you at the beginning to listen on headphones - which I will be honest, always makes me NOT want to, if you need a gimmick that tells you it isn't going to be great - and I am glad I didn't. There is so much screaming in this story that I would probably have had hearing damage by the end of it.
Even the name - Sour Hall - to me made me think of an old Manor House, not a farm. Why would you call a farm Sour Hall? It just makes no sense? I know that's a silly minor thing to pick apart but it was just yet another thing that distracted me from what might have been a decent story, if only it weren't bogged down by everything else. Not one I'd recommend, even if it is free.

I listened to this during a night shift during which some of the lights went off, and it I wasn't already creeped out enough by the audio drama, I was definitely extra alert after that!! As a Doctor Who fan, I was very intrigued to see/hear Pearl Mackie in something outside of her role as Bill, so with her voicing a queer character in a horror/thriller audio drama, I had to give this a go! I definitely wanted to feel more connected to the characters but considering the limited amount of time we spend with them (approximately 3 hours over 6 episodes), I think it was pretty well done - though I'd loved to have spent even more time developing the tension and getting to know our characters. It is recommended to listen through headphones for the best audible experience, and I definitely agree if you're okay with being on edge/creeped out!
