Met my usual criteria of interest: pre-World War I England with a bit of mystery and a bit of romance. Anyone looking for more action than a woman who "must" get married or an older sister hen-pecking a younger sister to take extreme measures, should look elsewhere. A pleasant little slice of life story. Perhaps recommended for someone who likes an escape with Miss Read once in a while. I enjoyed it but as more of a pleasant than a "wow" read.
