I enjoyed this book. The way that Keith Thompson writes this books is almost like it’s a fantasy. I wish that more history writers wrote like this because it made the book seem more like a story and less like a lecture. There were parts that were underwhelming due to a lack of sources, but I really enjoyed learning so many random facts about pirates. I grew up loving pirates of the Caribbean and was a really enjoyable read.

I really enjoyed it! Some parts I sailed right through and others I felt I was stuck in the doldrums, but a worthy read if you like to learn about pirates and sailing in this time period. A lot of interesting facts to be found!
