Lately I've been digging retellings that happen in space, which is just part of the charm of this anthology. Each story is based on the Greek mythology behind various constellations. It was fun to see how all the different stories wove together. I liked the characters and all the clever ways they escape the situations they're in. I look forward to seeing some of these characters again in future books. Also, that epilogue. I'm going to need book two.

Polaris Awakening is an anthology of science fiction stories written by a myriad of authors! I thoroughly enjoyed this anthology, it was one of the strongest that I've ever read.
Some of the stories were stronger than others, but overall I enjoyed how the tales linked, and the way that more development of these connections was left to the reader's imagination.
I loved the inclusion of queer characters, especially queer characters in main roles! That kind of representation, ie. not making queer characters always side-or underdeveloped- characters, is important to representation equality in the media.
I hope that there is going to be more to this anthology, perhaps another one, or just more stories in the same realm. It was nice to be able to pick this up sporadically between books and not feel like I was missing anything!
