So grateful for this series - love that stories that are based in other cultures are finally being written!
I appreciated the endnotes that gave even more info about where parts of the story originated from.

Ok so it's been a while since I read this and I still need to read the 3rd book and the spinoff so I may as well reread the series butttttt here's what I remember

-Bangladeshi princess in a magical world
- fight monsters
- BECOMES DEMON SLAYER
- SNAKE PRINCESS
- ships
- author is clearly an adult
- would make a really cool animated series
- character development was too outward ig? the author sort of made it a little too clear that the character developed and it felt a bit quick
- almost perfect

Kiranmala's story continues! This time the Demon Queen enlists Kiranmala's help to save her son, the half demon prince, Neel. At least Neel has an excuse for never getting back in touch after their last epic adventure...

I really enjoyed returning to the world of Kiranmala with book 2. Book 1 was more of self-discovery, where this book had more of a lesson against prejudice and racism, with the framework of Bengali folktales and girl power. Awesome read for upper elementary readers and beyond.

*I received a free advance copy of this book, but am not compensated in anyway for a review*
