Probably the most valuable Beatles text in the (long) history of Beatles text.

Let's be honest, this book exists for the pictures. While the anecdotes and histories are interesting, if not exactly new or original, the big, glossy photographs are the star here. Coffee-table worthy.

For once, I do not claim to have read every single word in this book - but I have spent enough time with it to warrant my star rating.

In my Beatles phase, I read this from front to back and had a great time. It’s such a well documented and fast-paced journey through the career of the Beatles, spanning from their formation to their final days as a band. The only thing that I was iffy about was the decision to posthumously write for John Lennon, but other than that I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Amazing. This book taught me so much. It's great that the four of them wrote this, because they are the ones who know what happened, and they can call each other out on what didn't. Full of music and images, this book is a *must* for anyone who considers themselves a Beatle-maniac.

I own it...I didn't read the whole thing. It's long!
