First impression 9/5/21: The characters felt a little YA to be approaching 30 years old, much more than can be accounted for by imposter syndrome.

It's definitely not a RW&RB derivative, so if you're concerned about that, the only resemblance is that it's about a redheaded prince.

Everything was chill. All I gotta say, I guess.

I always enjoy a good love story, but I’m not sure this is one. There was little chemistry between them for most of the book (there were rare moments like the first “I love you”). I tried so hard not to compare this to Red, White, and Royal Blue, but it’s so hard. I give it a 3.5/5 because it was correctly labeled a romcom (heavy on the “com”), I liked the characters individually, and I liked the diversity.

I really wanted to love this one but it just didn't happen. Personally I felt like the chemistry between Carter & Edgar was lacking. While I appreciate that Edgar was an out and proud Prince the rest just fell short.

Everyone was just an over saturated stereotype and if you want me to believe the main characters were in love you’re gonna have to try harder than that
