Very interesting. Without giving too much away, Boaz is living out on an isolated Alaskan island and finds a man washed ashore, apparently having falling off a passing cruise ship. Boaz has reasons to be wary of strangers, and his unexpected houseguest has reasons to be evasive.

This is more thoughtful than I was expecting, though maybe a tad overwritten, and I was intrigued to find out just what brought both of these men out to the middle of nowhere. Boaz and Eric are as different as can be, but somehow they work together. I do wish that
we'd gotten a bit more information on Boaz's upbringing, not so much details but how his own situation is impacted by the end, since it only touches on Eric's situation. And there's a plot hole here, since Boaz's in WITSEC but still using his own name. Sure, he's living far, far off the grid, but he still should be using a different name if he's that worried it'll be recognizable to any Joe Schmoe on the street.
Other than that, this gave me a story quite different from the majority of contemporaries available and I appreciated that.

I liked this, I waould have liked to know more of Boaz's past, hopefully the author is planning more stories for these two.

Oooooh, I really really liked this one! Boaz, the recluse, with a shitload of issues and a very mysterious past, was a wonderfully crafted character and remained somewhat mysterious until the end.

The mystery and other parts weren't extremly "realistic", but it also wasn't overly ambitious in that department - so it worked out very well, at least for me. And I just loved Boaz and felt for him so damn much. It even could have been a 5 star read for me, but the ending just wasn't my cup of tea. Let's just say: It was a little too much of everything and not exactly what I was hoping for. Overall, it was still really good though and I enjoyed it very much.
