A cute reminder to meet your neighbors and that one of them might just be ghost or other spirit.

What makes japanese writers so different from the others???!!

A very cute and pleasant collection of stories about people from a small neighborhood. My fav one was The Crooner and The White Dove.

Jarringly short and magical flash fiction stories, all set in the same neighbourhood, which become more and more engaging as the cast of familiar characters expands. It's crazy how much I hated this to start with, but once I was invested in the people of the neighbourhood (and the imaginative schoolchild narrator) the stories felt less purposeless and more curiously insightful. From two stars to three stars to four.

Not a particularly easy read, but one that gets more and more rewarding the further through it you get.
