Very cute story. I love books written entirely in emails, and this was one of those great books. At first I thought the story was very predictable, and almost forced, but as I got more into the story, it was very funny, fast paced, and more engaging. Loved the ending, not at all what I was expecting when I first started the book. All in all, it was a quick, fun read!

A book written solely through emails between mainly four friends and including a few interactions with some online dating and some profiles and other things. Renee is the main character and she is talked into creating an online dating profile by a friend and this prompts some funny emails!

I like books that are different and told in unique ways as long as they feel like you are still getting a full story. I am on the fence on this one. I liked it, but it just didn't seem like a full complete story. I wouldn't have minded some other creative ways to get more detail throughout the story. I can't come up with something specific in mind, but I just wish there had been a little more in a few places.

This is part one of three and I am intrigued if my feelings can grow for this series, we shall see over the next two days!

I love the idea of this book, a whole story told through emails. That's our lives now, isn't it? It really was amazing that I, as the reader, could learn so much about the characters, just from emails. And to be able to form a connection with them. The four main characters all have totally different personalities and I learned so much about them. I loved them all!

The four friends are all connected through the main character Renee. She gets talked into trying an online dating site. Because, you know, she's approaching 30 and doesn't have a man in her life. So some of the email exchanges are with the men for the dating site. And some are the exchanges between the friends as they try to figure out their lives.

Probably the character I got the biggest kick out of was Shelly. She was always dating (and sleeping with) different guys all the time. And she has a way to keep them straight - she assigned them names, depending on their performance. Some of them made me LOL.

Click is a very enjoyable, quick (as in, I didn't want to put it down!), fun read.

I have the sequel to this book, Double Click sitting on my Kindle, calling to me. I so want to dive into it to continue this story and to see what direction everyone's lives take but I wanted to get my thoughts down about Click before I continued so I wouldn't be influenced by the sequel. So here I go, off to get lost in another fun read!

I actually found this book to be funny and light hearted. I finished in one setting and stayed up late to finish it I just couldn't put it down!!

The format of this book is very interesting - it is told in a series of emails between 4 friends and then Renee's dates through an online dating site. Part of me wishes that there would have been also some scenes that weren't via email (like Renee's dates or her birthday party) but it didn't make the book any less enjoyable.

There were just a few things that I just couldn't see happening....like when Renee BCC's her friend Shelly on emails, when the person hits reply she won't see that reply so not sure how that could be part of the book. Also, when Renee is giving details of where she is going and with who (naming a name) yet the guy's name was never mentioned in the emails...perhaps it was in the emails that weren't in the book?

Anyway, outside of those two things it was funny to read the snarkiness between friends on their love life and friendship and to see their insecurities as well.

So, I kicked off the new year -2016, that is- with this little gem. At first I added it to my Amazon wish list because I wanted the emails format then I wanted to read it so it could give me the necessary incentive to finish another book that I had already started. The reality is, I’m glad that I read it. I started it at about 2:30am today and have enjoyed it thoroughly. Each character was quirky, funny and endearing. I liked how easy and light everything was and how close to reality it seemed. I’ve got to say, I’m a little scared how much I related to the main character Renee. The thing she said and her behaviour...damn...anyway, I’m happy to have read this book and I can’t wait for part 2 and 3.

This book made me laugh and the characters were fun but it was hard to relate sometimes because the book was written entirely in emails. Stay tuned for a more detailed review :)

~Quickie Review~

The Good: Characters (Shelley is a hoot!), pace (very fast! <3), engaging, fun, funny, entertaining, format (loved the emails! Although I would have loved to be privy to phone conversations and "dates" and such), Cute.

The Bad: Typos, conflict (
Spoilertook several emails before I realized Renee wasn't dead or injured and she was just licking wounds because Ethan was Shelley's "Cuddler"…
), ending (cliffhanger).

I think the Good/Bad sum up my feelings pretty well here. I L-O-V-E-D this book (almost read the whole thing in one sitting. Which is HUGE for me btw!) right up until the conflict and end. I was all set to tag this as a Favorite and give it 5+ stars, but the end was a little too abrupt for me. In fact, it was so abrupt that it took me a few tries to turn the page before I realized it was done (yes, I had a "Duh" moment. Sue me...).

Despite the cliffhanger ending, I enjoyed this book a lot. I can't wait to read the next installment. If you're looking for a fast-paced, fun little read with a unique twist, then this is an excellent option.

Author Lisa Becker sent me “Click: An Online Love Story” for review. I’ve had this book on my TBR pile for a while so to finally get to read and review it was great. The entire book is written in email format. I actually like reading email conversations in books. They are fast, fun, and creative forms of conversations. It was a surprise that in a 2011 setting the four characters chose to communicate via email and phone rather than texting. While that was surprising, I loved it because..well, I HATE texting. I would rather read emails containing actual sentences than try to piece together a bunch of letters to form a conversation. These four friends are all very different but mesh well together and their friendship was real. Readers will find at least one character that they can relate to. There is Mark, the nerd; Ashley, the judgmental priss; Shelley, the…for lack of a better word…slut; and Renee, the average woman. Of the four of them I found myself identifying with Renee the most. I enjoyed the email mishaps that transpired towards the end of the story, I’m sure everyone could relate to them LOL. The man Renee ends up in a serious relationship with was ironic and funny. I thought the ending was too sudden, it just stops at a random email. I was expecting some Happily Ever After news to be shared. I give “Click: An Online Love Story” 3/5 stars, even though I enjoyed the story I wish there had been chapters of narration sprinkled throughout. I only got to experience the summarized versions of the friends’ lives through emails they sent after the fact. I feel I missed what could have been some hilarious antics had Lisa narrated some of their dates/hookups.
