Coming Home by Jane Suen is the sequel to Flowers in December. While I have read a lot of books and generally love Suen's work, this was not one of my favorites. I think mostly because it didn't end the way I wanted it to. I kept expecting, and hoping for 2 things to happen, that didn't. I can't say what, as it is a spoiler, but just be warned, don't get your hopes up for a sappy romantic ending. I love the part of the story regarding Alana and her mother, but Mary Ann's story didn't end as expected. But, anyone who has read any of the authors books knows that's normal. She always seems to put a twist in at the end which I sometimes love and sometimes want to scream, in a true page turner fashion.
The story follows Connor Norton, after he and his cat, Tom return to his childhood home. In the previous book, his mother passed away, and he is still grieving. He has to make some decisions about the next steps for his life, and rekindles some friendships along the way. I recommend the book, but it must be read after Flowers in December. I highly recommend you check out Jane Suen's other works as well. They are all quick easy reads.

Coming Home by Jane Suen is the sequel to Flowers in December. The story picks up with Connor returning to his childhood home for the holidays after the passing of his mother. I recommend reading the first book because it goes into the background and the characters before delving into this story. This is an emotional read and proves it is good to return home sometimes. Connor is great and I like that he is dealing with loss but also moving on with his life. Mary Ann, Dottie, and Alana are great also. I really like the story and that there were some twists to break away from the expected. The book is a quick read and relatively short but impactful. I look forward to reading more from Jane Suen in the future.

Coming Home: The Sequel to Flowers in December by Jane Suen was a sweet fast-paced novella. Coming Home was told from multiple points of view and I recommend that you read Flowers in December to get a better understanding of what’s happening.

It has been four months since Connor’s mother’s death and he has decided to come home for his first Christmas without her. He runs into an old face and someone he has thought about for months but has that person moved on?

This was a wonderfully written novella. But I need more, you left me wanting to know what is going to happen next.

Coming Home by Jane Suen

I have to say that this second book was really quite the follow up. I like the opportunity to see how Connor dealt with the grief of losing his mom. This book also gave us an oppertunity to see into the lives of a few others in the community. The author really did a fine job of tying in all the characters.

I can't help but feel like this was a window in a way into my own grief that I still feel. I really can relate to Connor. The flash backs really helped to add to the book. I also was very intrigued to learn more about Dottie and her daughter Alana. I was so glad they were able to look past their differences. I like the cliff hanger as to Connor and Mary Ann. The author has a great way of grabbing the reader from the beginning and keeping you glued to the pages wanting more. I look forward to reading more from this author in future.

I was really looking forward to seeing how Connor was coping in the second instalment to Flowers in December – book 1 was very emotional following Connor and his grief over losing his mother and again his emotions flowed through this story but in a different way. This story was more about him making his peace with everything and moving on with his life. I loved seeing Mary-Ann back in his life and also some other secondary characters. We got snippets into a few of the other characters too which was nice. Although the story didn’t end up as I thought and maybe wanted I still enjoyed reading about Connor again.
I would definitely recommend reading book 1 before this one to fully understand everything Connor went through.
Another great read from Jane Suen, I look forward to more from her again in the future.

Coming Home is a fun-loving Christmas story by Jane Suen. I like Jane’s other books and I knew that I would like this one as well. The story was a quick read, but it has such a powerful story with in the covers. I felt that the characters could easily be a part of my family or friends. I love Mary Ann character the most. I love how she achieved what she wanted in life. Mary Ann is such a strong female character. This story was filled with emotions and twists and turns. I would suggest a kleenex box near you and to set enough time to complete this story.

I loved this book! It is a sweet Christmas story that pulled at my heartstrings and will yours too. It is about forgiveness, finding love and the feeling of happiness. The characters are awesome and the journey they took me on was an emotional roller coaster that I just couldn’t put down until the end. Mary Ann, Alana, Connor and Ron bring the story to life for me, they are so true to life and connectable. I found myself rooting for all of them to find their happiness. A must read!

Another well written story by Jane Suen. Coming Home is the sequel to Flowers in December. Connor has returned to his childhood home after the death of his mother. He rekindles some relationships with those from his past. And hopes to rekindle a relationship with Mary Ann.

As is usual with Jane Suen’s stories is the underlying “moral of the story”. After reading this story I am left wondering which relationships I should go and “fix”.

I suggest reading Flowers in December, so you get a better feel for Connor and the situations that made him the way he is.

Coming Home is the sequel to Flowers in December by Jane Suen.
We meet back up with Connor, four months after the end of the first book. He has ‘come home’ for the holidays as a way of honouring his mother and his/their memories . This story is a continuation of the first book, with Connor still coming to terms with his mother’s passing, the grieving process, self-realization, forgiveness, finding a way to move forward, mending bridges, hope, love, and emotion- that happens over the course of the story. I loved it even more than the first book.
I really recommend reading the first book before starting on this one, as all the backstory and other relevant information is contained in that book. Ms. Suen had me hooked quite quickly and engaged me the whole way through. It is a short story, and I finished it quite quickly- but as with the first book, the author infused so much emotional content into the story- it has stayed on my mind long after finishing it.
I wonder what Ms. Suen has up her sleeve for us next. She certainly likes to surprise us!

Thank you, Ms. Suen!

The one thing you dont do when you read any of this authors books is go in thinking you know how everything is going to go because she will show you the meaning of what a twist and a turn means and have you sitting there at the end going ..What just happened? She shows you that a twist doesn't have to be explosive or a throw your kindle moment, she does it in a slow crawl where you have no idea it's even happening.

I could not wait to get my hands on this story and that's not surprising because this author has become an absolute one click for me, no thought goes in to my choosing its just see it, get excited, then it's on my kindle.

I loved Flowers in December and at the end knew I needed more because something was happening and being implied and then it was done and my imagination took it from there. Many Thanks to Jane Suen for seeing this, and knowing that her readers needed more and then delivering.

So much was going on in this very short story but you never feel like anything was crammed in or get confused...She touched on many emotions and feelings and I'm just not going to give anything away so you will have to pick this story up, but please don't start here, you must read Flowers in December first, this is where you will really get to know Connor Norton, and Tom.

Trust me...I've read every one of this authors books, she is a master with words and brilliant with putting them together to form what seems like simple stories that are so much more complex than they seem, I would love to sit and talk to her for a day I have a feeling I would come away rethinking many things.

Loved It..Love this author!!
