I want to start by saying, this author certainly has talent and potential. She weaved a great story that included not only romance, but mystery. It was a good plot, and I was interested in it the whole way through.

Where I had trouble was with the relationships. I just didn't connect with Trey and Tylar, and I didn't understand why they were in love. Tylar seemed to get a case of insta-love and Trey, although he denied it, did as well. What attracted them? What made them right for each other? I don't think I ever really got it.

I was also annoyed a lot of the time with their conversations. They were just...off. They never seemed to find their true voice. The way they spoke seemed to jump around all over the place. Sometimes it was formal, almost clinical...other times it was gritty. It needed some continuity.

And the sex? Well, it was great...the first 10 times. After that it seemed to just be more of the same. It's almost like it followed a script. It needed some variation!

All in all, it's worth a read and I am looking forward to seeing the author grow in her writing!

This book took me by surprise! I didn't expect this kind of twisty and mystery to show up out of nowhere.

The third book, Be My Baby, was recommended in a reading group I joined on Facebook. Still, I hate reading a series mid-way (that's just me!), so I saw that the book box was on sale for .99, so of course, I bought it! Like I stated above, this book was not what I thought it was.

With a shady past, a horrible mother, Tylar Preston is determined to be nothing like the woman who brought her into this life. Tylar is a college student with a summer Job at Sinclair stables. Her love for horses means that she is in love with her employment. Trey Sinclair is a successful, arrogant businessman; his life is as ordered as his suits, and he has no hope for a future of love.

Trey Sinclair returns home to oversee his parents' livelihood at Sinclair's Stables for the summer. He isn't prepared for the chance to meet the new girl looking after his treasured horse. After a connection that surprises them both occurs, the story follows this couple's journey where chemistry, suspense, secrets, and danger follow them both at every turn. After a long, windy, and surprising road, can this duo find a happy ending that leaves their hearts intact?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book from cover to cover. Taylor's actions were cute and quirky. Tylar is somewhat damaged by her past; as a young woman, she has dealt with some harrowing past experiences, and I have to admit she showed strength when needed. I won't reveal much more of her character since it unfolds as the story progresses. Overall, she is one of my favorite characters I have read so far this year.

Trey can come across as bossy, moody, and overly protective because this man is an authoritative, outlandishly handsome, hot-headed, and at times unbearable character. He is a high-powered attorney in Atlanta, so he's probably used to giving out orders and them being followed. But his personality clashes with that of Tylar's.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this book and couldn't wait to start the second one. Would I recommend it? It depends on what you like. If you are into an erotic romance with a mix of mystery...then yes, this book is for you. If you just want a quirky romance with icing and a cherry on top? I would put this one to the side for now.

Thank you for reading!
Hope your lucky stars watch over you!

update

here's the thing.. even tho everyone says the first one was rough around the edges.. the first one had a hell of a lot of heart.. and i loved it.. i loved it to bits and pieces. I read it and i said to myself.. someone made a labor of love here.. and built us a complete story no holds barred

it's a bit like a hollywood movies that have become to streamline they lose the complexity of the story.. the ditch sub plots and dumb it down . yes many of these are good movies.. yes they work out better for the masses .. yes they probably if i hadnt read the first one and love it so damn much make a cleaner story that reads wonderful smoother and faster.. but at the same time that complexity brings richness and character to the story.. you get to that last page in the book or that last bit of the movie and you say to yourself worth it.. and that was what set the original apart of the cleaner version .. i like both.. but i love the original

I volunteered to read this book to give an honest review. well here goes nothing....

I loved it. I fell in love with Trey as Tylar did. He has his moments when I couldnt stand him and was mad at how he was treating Tylar. I was on edge as repressed memories made their out. I was horrified when Charlie was the abuser from her past. If you havent figured it out, I got into the book. The connection that Trey and Tylar have is something else. The twist about her mother had me so shocked and upset. I am so happy that she is able to overcome the situation and was able to be with Trey
