So. Cute.
Ok, I'm from Boston and most of my cousins have That Accent. It was so neat to see it in a book, and a book about lobsters!! The message about the environment is important and not such a hitting-you-on-the-head message that it's not fun for all. I heard the author speak, and he also mentioned that the idea that sometimes you do everything right but still don't win was an important one for students to hear.

Cute tail (heh) of two lobstah's on their quest for the perfect gahden, and the stupid pollutin' fishaman that ruin the day.
3yr old deeply loves it so far. Not looking forward to the phone call home from daycare complaining about her calling the other kids "chowdah heads," but it's a price I'm willing to pay for great children's lit.

Thank you to Sourcebooks for an advanced copy of this picture book.
I very much liked the two characters, which would be super fun for young readers to compare, as well as the message about pollution and protection of oceanic ecosystems. The illustrations are also beautiful and engaging.
However, I’m not sure of the purpose of the dialect. Humor? Sure. A fun read aloud? Yes. But maybe for a very small audience who lives with New England accents. Otherwise it just feels like it’s making fun. Which is not so nice.

I received this ebook from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was a hilarious little book about pollution. The Boston accent that you have to read it in is the best. The illustrations are very vibrant and detailed. I love how Milton and Walter come together to solve their gahbage problem.

This book was awesome, and I would love to see it animated, just for the voices. Maybe Ben Aflec and Matt Damon, or the Walburg bros. Two lobsters with their heavy boston accents figure out where all the pollution is coming from and send it back. The illustrations are great and the information in the back of the book is perfect. Kids are going to love this book.
