3.25

3 rating. This review is just for Ridgway's Say Yes. It was a mediocre read. MCs were decent but having read some really excellent contemporary romances, the writing felt bland and amateurish. It is like the difference between seeing an excellent rom com like Bridget Jones's Diary, then following that up with a cheesy Hallmark romance. The overall quality just doesn't compare. It also didn't help that it was a novella, which oftentimes struggles to have a chance to fully develop its characters.

That said, if you're looking for a light, frothy read to pass the time or fulfill a reading goal, this novella would certainly satisfy that.

Review for No More Bad Girls by Leslie Kelly - 3.25
I wanted to give this a 3.5 but I just couldn't get past the cheesiness of some of the language. Labeling a guy who sleeps around and is a perpetual bachelor as a "bad boy" and a normal girl who doesn't sleep around as a "good girl" felt like I was reading something out of the 50s sometimes. That said, this is the one of two novellas I've read this year that was able to carry a full story arc without the reader feeling like they got cheated or that it was too short to be believable. I enjoyed both MCs and their journeys and felt like I really got a full novel experience even though it was much shorter. Decent story, meh writing.
