 I don't think I have ever had what is known as a book hangover, I always go from one book right to the next and I am usually reading a whole other book besides. There have, however, been books that were tough acts to follow and this is one of them.

An early note I wrote about some passage in Fingersmith: "I think Sarah Waters might be too gloomy for me." She definitely is. Five stars anyway.
