Good

It is nice to see a little bit of a change in pace. To have the protagonist remain in one place for longer than a few weeks. Changes the dynamic with the supporting characters. And, of course, good ol' treachery.

Oh I do love this series, ok I know I have only read two books but I am a HUGE fan! And yes, I can admit I have a book crush on Tom Rollins. As I said last time, he is a man you want in your corner!

This time he has settled for a time, a park ranger, the perfect job for him but things are about to get tainted! What a rollercoaster of action, misdirect, double-crossing, and a small tinge of romance. I loved it! It was perfect to lose a few hours as I head into the forest by Tom’s side. From the start, something isn’t right and it’s not long until the action kicks off. I didn’t realise how far the deception was, but I did guess one of the turncoats but wowzers!

Man, I would sit and tell you how fantastic everything is about this book but I don’t want to ruin it for you. It’s everything I loved in the early books of the Jack Reacher books, yes still on a break (what a broken record). Tom doesn’t get involved unless he has to and someone is shooting at you, well it’s a pretty good reason to get involved.

I am chomping at the bit for the next book in this series!!! Just can’t wait!

You should not let Tom Rollins live in a place in any forest. No Quarter by paul Heatley is the latest addition to this series about ex soldier Rollins trying to keep a low profile and keep to himself. Well, good luck with that. I really like this character and the troubles that he faces in each book. Heatley has created a great character that like Reacher travels around trying to stay out of trouble. This time he works as a forest ranger in northern California, but the quiet forest and small adjacent town is not a very nice place. Tom encounters people from south of the border in the woods and the state that there in tells him that they are not regular hikers. What is going on and who are the guys shooting at him? Well the book is out on August the 7th then you can have as much fun as I did reading this book. Thanks to Inkubator books and Netgalley for supplying me with this advance copy and Paul Heatley for making this stuff up.
