Though this is geared toward sketching for the sake of painting it later, I still enjoyed David Rankin's tips and tricks and his humor. The most important thing I learned is the difference between sketching and drawing (hint: I prefer the former). His dedicated chapters on landscapes, people, and animals were very informative and fun to browse.

A good book for beginners or people that aren't familiar with a loose & fast drawing style. Quite useful.
