Liked the romance but didn't like any of the MC sexist elements.. that's kinda why I stick to speculative romance usually.

This was a surprisingly light book for the topics involved. I love that Charge just went with the flow and adapted so well.

I'm somewhere between a 3 and a 4 on this one. If I'd read CCW's books chronologically, this would have been an easy 4 stars, but I feel like the author has recycled these characters in subsequent books. My emotions were definitely played with and I was moved to tears more than once by the fierce love Kayla had for Jimmy, and her terror of losing him again.
This lost a star for telling over showing us the relationship between Kayla and Charge. It went from a little flirting to a sex scene to being in love, with far too much retrospective telling of important events rather than experiencing them first-hand. In fairness, this was the author's first release and having read more recently written books there has been a definite improvement in submerging the reader into the moment.
Nickle's story is next, I'm really looking forward to finding out what makes that guy tick.

I enjoyed this book and was glad to see Kayla get some happy after such a rough story.
