I read this aloud to my seven and nine year old daughters. My biggest complaint was all the nautical/sailing jargon. There were a lot of terms I did not know and was not interested in wasting time at bedtime to look them all up. The chapters alternated between the stories of Anton and Cecil. The problem with that was that the chapters were so long that I couldn't remember what was happening with the other one when his story picked back up. Chapters should have been shorter. But my daughters enjoyed the story. We will probably read the next in the series at some point.

I'll have to go back and try to read this one again at a later date. It is so beloved by so many, but the voice has not captured me.

Read this when I was 11 but it was so memorable that I had to review it. I just love some sailor cats
