A simple and yet compelling story, this classic seems like it would be an excellent read for a young reader--and entertaining for adults, as well. I'm glad I took some time to read this book that I missed as a kid.

Read with Grade 2 students who found it highly engaging, though I think it was written for an older age group of children originally.

Sweet and fun and pretty literary for a kids’ book. It did seem to me that Mrs. Frisby’s story was kind of just a framing device to tell the story of the rats. It was interesting to see ethical questions in science explored or at least brought up in a book like this.
