Mena is a high school senior. She has a birth mark on her face and she's been terribly bullied since the start of high school, but she hasn't told no one, nor her parents nor her cousins—the only friends she has. Until one day, a new neighbour appears, Turner, and the two start to talk on their balconies without meeting in person. But it doesn't take long for Turner to find out who Mena really is, and he needs to make a decision. Will it stand by the side of her friends, the bullies, or by the side of the girl he has fallen for?

This book turned me into an emotional mess. After reading about the bullying and abuse that Mena suffered, few tears came down. She's such a strong woman despite everything, and I wish we could see more of her. Although there was romance in the book, I didn't feel like Turner was a main part in the book. Yes, Mena falls for him and he helps to come clean about what is happening, but I felt like the relationship with her cousins and her family was more important and impactful than the one she had with Turner. Moreover, I felt like Turner's story, about his mother and sister, was thrown out of nowhere.

WOW!! Completely gripping read from beginning to end!

A different bully story than I've read before, but one that gripped my insides, twisted them up and then completely shredded them to dust.

Mena was bullied at a level of brutality unlike any I've read before. The written accounts of bullying in Like You Care are vivid and so harsh I felt like I was the one experiencing it myself instead of Mena. It's heartbreaking and will make you weep for this poor defenseless girl. It will also make you sympathize as to why she keeps her identity hidden and does the things she does, the horrible shame and lack of self esteem she carries is enough of a reason, when she meets the new boy next door.

When Turner moves in next door to Mena he doesn't see her face, but they talk and get to know one another. He doesn't know she is the piraha at school, the one everyone bullies, he just likes the girl who lives next door. Could it be a trick? Should Mena trust him? Could this be the biggest prank ever pulled? Get the new boy to play nice and then humiliate her in public? Mena is tied up in knots over what to feel, hence keeping her identity a secret. That is until she no longer has a choice.

Like You Care will tie you up in knots for lots of reasons and reasons you may not even guess. Even with the vivid accounts of bullying, this story pulled me in and I read it in one sitting and couldn't put it down. It was like nothing I've read before and was full of twists that I didn't see coming. I'm really looking forward to reading more of Kaydence Snow in the future.

Worth it

Definitely worth the read. The twists and the storyline really broke my heart. I wish Mena didn’t have to go through what she went through, but I am so happy she has kick ass cousins & Turner to keep her rooted & happy. The only downfall was it was too short

This was my first book by this author.

It only took me a few pages to be completely hooked by this author's words. It's a bully romance but so different from others in that trope.

Mena and Turner had amazing chemistry and I loved how their relationship started. I loved the secondary characters and the fierce love and loyalty they showed Mena. I can't wait for Donna's book.

Snow just wreaked me with this book! The prologue really sucks you in, you're dying to know what's happening. I loved Mena! Snow introduced me to something that I was never even aware of with this book and It completely stole my heart! This bully book will have you ready to square up! These girls are savage and so jealous! I would have loved to knock them down a peg for sweet Mena! Snow ripped all my emotions out! There’s also a lot of mystery surrounding Turner, lots of secrets being kept! And when the truth comes out you are knocked on your a33! I was so not expecting that! Turner and Mena have a sweet and pulse-pounding relationship, they are a slow burn. I loved them so much! Turner was the perfect gentleman, I loved how much he cared for Mena. Mena's cousin and their friends were a special group, they were there when it counted and really came through for her. I'm really excited to see what comes next for the girls of Devilbend Dynasty. I read the first 10 chapters of this in the Bully Me anthology and I was so gripped! Like You Care is one of those books that stays with you, Mena will always be in my heart! I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Days later and I’m still thinking about this book.
There was so much more to the story than I first expected.
It was horrible in places (not the writing, what happened to Mena), sweet in others and an all around fabulous read.
I’m excited to read the rest of the Devilbend books!
