A total disappointment. What kind of porn star writes a book and professes to be a good actor and a comedian throughout the entire thing? YAWN.

We're here to read about the sex, Ron.

For the record I am not a consumer of pornography, not judging those who are, it is just not my cup of tea. However, I am extremely interested in those on the periphery of society. A documentary on prostitution (yes please), a memoir from a porn star (sign me up), a Frontline on drug trafficking (intrigued), Amish, Mormons, Hell Angels, cults, etc, etc.

That said, when I first heard of Ron Jeremy as being a legend in porn and saw his picture, I thought it was a joke. A pudgy, dowdy, 50 something, being an icon in that industry?!?

The book is a little gratuitous, but there were definitely some entertaining and interesting tidbits, enough to keep me interested. Not necessarily recommended reading, but if you are interested in the fringe of society, and curious about Ron Jeremy in general, you might enjoy this.

This book is "cute" in the way that its written, slightly disorganized with no real purpose. Like a novel written by a teenager it rambles, name drops, repeats itself but over all it reflects Ron Jeremy's life as he sees it. He comes across as a happy and kind man with a sense of humour. I really enjoyed this although particularly informative it was not.

Summary of the entire novel = :P LOL!

it seems like all he talks about is the plethora of famous people he knows. he does have some hilarious stories, but mostly i was just annoyed. book also contains picture inserts....yeah.

read it because i was intrigued by ron jeremy (many years ago) while watching MTV's surreal life, he seemed like a nice guy. wellllllllll, i'm sure he's a nice guy but honestly, reading about his working life left me feeling a little ill (and kind of bored, tbh.) some behind the scenes stuff, some name dropping, a few glimpses into places most of us wouldn't go and oh, yeah pictures.

This man makes my skin crawl, even though this book only presents him in the best way.

Also the book dragged way too long, because he kept namedropping all the famous people he met, knew, worked with...

I don't normally read non-fiction books; I much prefer to be taken on a journey through the author’s imagination. However this was recommended to me by a friend so I though why not? I am so glad I acted on this recommendation because I actually was really entertained by this book. It is so unrealistic that it seems like it must be a work of fiction. But it’s not. Insane.

What I found most intriguing is the argument that all actresses are equal partners in the adult entertainment industry. Some of the incidents in this book make me question this. How can the women be equal partners when it is the men who decide partner swaps and ‘give’ each other a present, where the present is intimacy with a woman. Why the men make this decision and not the woman only highlights a huge inequality in this industry; men make decisions and women are property.

I did enjoy the book and I am more likely to pick up another biography or autobiography.

I was watching porn with my roommate one day and wondered aloud why men have a wide selection of female porn stars while all we woman have is Ron Jeremy. And somehow, I ended up getting this book.

Like all celebrities, he's misunderstood. Or so it seems like it. He's not a dirty sexual deviant; he just happens to be an actor who is in porn. He wanted to do mainstream, but he's unlucky in that area. He also staunchly insists that he never and would never use Viagra, and that his dick is 9 3/4 inches (or "2 inches off the floor").

I never found his dick size or his performance impressive. It still boggles my mind how he's kept at it. Although props to him for staying in the industry after all these years--1750 porn films and maybe 4000 (or was it 2000) women fucked! There was also a lot of namedropping in this book, which I guess is what makes this interesting.
