The first volume (I Am Gotham) just doesn't feel like a Batman book... more like a Batman-adjacent book... I also find David Finch's work to be a little bland. So glad to see Mikel Janin and Mitch Gerads took over the second volume (I Am Suicide). The plot of the second volume is also more enjoyable --- looking forward to further development of the Batman/Catwoman relationship.

I, unfortunately, was not a fan. I can see the potential, however, I can see the world in which these stories, I Am Gotham, Night of the Monster Men (won’t be talking about here, as I have a separate review of it for the full story), I Am Suicide, and Rooftops were really exciting, where I can’t wait to turn the next page, THAT feeling, but we don’t live in that world. Instead, the first 15 issues are a moshposh of a lot of ideas, and they’re all annoying.

I Am Gotham seemed a bit aimless and having two tie ins to a larger storyline not collected here are definitely not highlights, but I Am Suicide is good enough to save the book.
