The first one was better. Very confusing choices for the characters which annoyed me and also the minor character death was unnecessary and surprising.

I don't think you should read this book if you haven't read the original, as I think the entire set up to the story is in the first book in the series. This is a fairly light read with some dark content, but nothing that will surprise readers of the first novel. It felt a bit more contrived than the first book at first, but I think that once you re-immerse yourself into these friends' world, Dawn O'Porter does a good job building on the characters she created and paints a very real picture of female friendship, particularly in small towns. I am not a connoisseur of modern fiction, as I rarely read it, but I find her work to be enjoyable but not vapid, and a pretty accurate depiction of real female teen friendship in this series. If you liked the first one, I would definitely recommend this one.

I adored Paper Aeroplanes so I couldn't wait to get my hands on Goose. It picks up about 3 years after where Paper Aeroplanes left us off. The characters have grown up a bit, matured a bit and as a result are all the more relatable. Getting ready to leave their little island of Guernsey after their exams, Flo and ReneƩ are finding it hard at times to maintain the friendship they first had. Throw in the mix a live interest or two and you'll see the two young ladies slowly drifting apart against their will. An enjoyable read, brings me back to my teenage years to a certain extent and while it's no Paper Aeroplanes, I can't wait for the next instalment!

This book was good, but not as good as the first in the series Paper Aeroplanes. I thought that the plot could have been developed a bit more, with more twists. That being said though the car crash near the end did improve the plot a lot. Though there was still some predictable parts. I liked the small mentions towards characters in the previous book, and how some new characters were brought in. Though overall I feel it doesn't meet the same standard as the first book.

if there's something I admire, it's O'Porter's honesty
