Enjoyable and uncomplicated story that delicately discussed the uneasy relationship that was brewing with the Catholic Church in the 50s and 60s. A beautiful mesh of characters that all landed in differing currents of society. What I enjoyed in particular was that Plunkett did not try to overindulge in typical Anglo-Irish (over)descriptions in writing.
